Right Marketing Wrongs

Happy Birthday to us!

Stephen Clark - Sunday, July 11, 2010
It's hard to believe that we are approaching our 1st Birthday already! What a whirlwind year it has been too. From humble beginnings we set out to Right Marketing Wrongs and make positive changes to how small and medium business approach their marketing. I'm happy to say that I feel we have achieved this with each and every client we have worked with, all to varying degrees, but the stories I consistently hear from our clients and seeing them succeed in business is heartening. It's how we can measure our success. But, this is also just the start for us. Like any business, we are focussed on growth - slow, steady, sustainable growth.

As we get into our second year of business, I would like to say thanks to all those we have worked with, spoken to and had the pleasure of meeting. We love what we do, it's our passion, and to be able to do it each and every day is a blessing. So cheers to our first year, and cheers to many more to come!

Peace.

Splendour in the Grass coming to Woodford July 2010

Stephen Clark - Saturday, April 17, 2010

Yes that's right. The ever popular Splendour in the Grass has made the move from Byron Bay to Woodford for one of the biggest festivals Australia has seen. With over 80 acts, 3 days and 30,000 people, this promises to be a massive event, although the tickets are a bit pricey.

It did get us thinking though. With a potential crowd of 30,000 people heading to Woodford, are small business operators in the area preparing to take advantage of this situation? I spent New Years partying in Tasmania at the Falls Festival, which is a similar concept to Splendour. It was a great few days of camping and music. I distinctly remember driving there through a number of small towns, and only a handful of operators were proactively taking advantage of the convoy and offering necessities that are often forgotten, like ice and food! Judging from all the cars stopped at these places, they were definitely reaping the rewards of foresight and planning. So, what are you planning to do?

There are still market stall areas available which you can apply for. And food areas too. If you're thinking of holding a stall there, or you want to take advantage of this event, speak with us to start planning and getting yourself into the best position.

Despite the price, we will be queuing up to buy our tickets when they go on sale. We hope to see you there, and we also hope to work with you in the months leading up to Splendour so you can best take advantage of 30,000 people on the Sunshine Coast over 3 days in late July!

Awesome Email Marketing Design

Stephen Clark - Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Text, text, text! Aside from a couple of small logos and a subtle background image, this campaign consists of nothing but well formatted, beautiful text. This design need not worry about information being lost if the campaign's images are blocked, because everything is, well, you get the picture.

We love awesome design and will try and feature regular email marketing designs that we just love. Hopefully this will inspire you with your next email newsletter!

New Google Docs...finally!

Stephen Clark - Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Google docs has always been good in theory but painful in practice.  You could get a taste of the power and sense of joint collaboration on documents but the experience just wasn’t there.  Surprisly the Docs platform didn’t seem to move forward over the last 18 months. Now we know why…. A new Google docs.

They say a house is only as good as its foundation, and we believe the same holds true for web applications like Google Docs. With our old foundation, we could continue delivering most features you wanted quickly, but over time it became clear that some just weren’t possible. So we decided to rebuild the underlying infrastructure of Docs to give us greater flexibility, improved performance and a better platform for developing new features quickly.

Today, we’re pleased to announce preview versions of the new Google document and spreadsheet editors and a new standalone drawings editor, all built with an even greater focus on speed and collaboration. To get a taste of what’s new today, check out our video:

I think Google Docs is great for small business that don't want to be tied down to their desktop and enjoy getting out and about!

Announcing the Web24 Conference in Newcastle, Australia

Stephen Clark - Wednesday, April 14, 2010

Imagine a conference that's only 1 day long, has 1 solid schedule of talks and comes at the price of a fancy lunch. Sounds crazy? Then perhaps you should check out Web24, a web design & development conference launching on 14 August in Newcastle, NSW, Australia.

So, apart from the above, what makes this gig different from other web events? For one thing, Web24 isn't limited to practicing web professionals - students and those new to the web industry are welcome to join and learn from more experienced folks on the day. Like most meets, Web24 is also a great chance to pair and network, however this time it's with local web folks and doesn't require the usual 2-hour drive down to Sydney.

Best of all, Web24 is looking for speakers, so if you're keen to warm up the mic, take a look at the talks lined up in Web24's schedule and get in touch with the organisers. Regardless of whether you're a ninja and novice developer, get on up to the Central Coast of New South Wales and make a day of Web24. The fancy lunch can wait.
