Yes that's right. The ever popular Splendour in the Grass has made the move from Byron Bay to Woodford for one of the biggest festivals Australia has seen. With over 80 acts, 3 days and 30,000 people, this promises to be a massive event, although the tickets are a bit pricey.
It did get us thinking though. With a potential crowd of 30,000 people heading to Woodford, are small business operators in the area preparing to take advantage of this situation? I spent New Years partying in Tasmania at the Falls Festival, which is a similar concept to Splendour. It was a great few days of camping and music. I distinctly remember driving there through a number of small towns, and only a handful of operators were proactively taking advantage of the convoy and offering necessities that are often forgotten, like ice and food! Judging from all the cars stopped at these places, they were definitely reaping the rewards of foresight and planning. So, what are you planning to do?
There are still market stall areas available which you can apply for. And food areas too. If you're thinking of holding a stall there, or you want to take advantage of this event, speak with us to start planning and getting yourself into the best position.
Despite the price, we will be queuing up to buy our tickets when they go on sale. We hope to see you there, and we also hope to work with you in the months leading up to Splendour so you can best take advantage of 30,000 people on the Sunshine Coast over 3 days in late July!
